Years in Business

Applicants must be in business for a minimum of 2 years under the current ownership and have a minimum of 1 year experience in insurance restoration contracting and mitigation.

Facility Requirements

All employees must be in a company uniform and/or have proper identification upon arrival to the client site.

Warranty Guarantee of Work

Applicants must agree to guarantee their work, not including materials for minimum of 2 years.

Mitigation Requirement

Applicants must agree to the following mitigation guidelines:

  • Be available 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
  • Respond to the call center and accept the job within 20 minutes.
  • Be on site within 3 hours of accepting the job.

Restoration Requirements

Applications must agree to the following restoration guidelines:

  • Make initial contact with the insured client within 24 business hours.
  • 48 hrs. to do on-site inspection
  • 72 hrs. to get estimate completed and up-loaded

References

Applicants must submit a minimum of 10 references. These references should come from individuals/companies that you have done business with in the last 18 months, see the breakdown below.

  • 4 insured’s you have completed work for.
  • 4 adjusters you currently work with or have previously worked with.
  • other non-insurance companies that you have dealings with.
Please note as part of the application process we will be contacting these individuals/companies to verify them as references.

Background Checks/Licensing, Insurance and Financial Requirements

Contractor Overlook will enlist the services of _____________ to complete background checks, and confirm that the applicant meets the necessary licensing, insurance and financial requirements (see below for requirement details) to become part of the Contractor Overlook network. Once we receive your application, you will be e-mailed a link to the _______________ site to complete the registration process.

Background Checks All Principals and owners will be required to submit to a background check. In addition it is Contractor Overlook’s requirement that active contractors perform background checks (if one was not done as part of your companies SOP for new hires) on all employees, who at anytime will be present in a policyholders’ home. Contractors will not be required to submit the results of the background checks unless you receive a formal request from Contractor Overlook. However, you will be required to sign and submit an affidavit stating you have completed the necessary background checks prior to any job being assigned to your company.
Insurance Requirements – Please see the Schedule A for additional insurance requirement information. General Liability: $100,000,000 each occurrence / $200,000,000 aggregate to include:
  • Premises and Operations Liability
  • Products and Completed Operation Liability
  • Broad Form Property Damage Liability
  • Independent Contractors Liability
  • Personal Injury Liability
Comprehensive Automobile Liability:
  • $100,000,000 combined single limit covering liability arising out of any owned, hired and non-owned auto accident.
Contractors Pollution Liability:
  • $100,000,000 per occurrence – if your business does water mitigation.
Excess Umbrella:
  • 500,000,000
Worker’s Compensation
  • As required by state law
Tax Returns
Financial Requirements Financial Statements
  • 2 years of financial statements, preferably audited, but not required for all applicants having been in business for 2 years.
  • 2 years of tax returns for applicants having been in business for 2 years.
Tax Returns
  • 3 years of financial statements, preferably audited, but not required for all applicants having been in business for 3 or more years.
  • 3 years of tax returns for applicants having been in business for 3 or more years.
License Requirements All licenses which are required by your state and/or the US government to do business must be current. You are required to submit copies of all licenses with your application. i.e. Contractors License, EPA Lead Certification, etc.
Lead Fee Contractor will pay a lead fee of $15 for each job referred to you by ECO.
Commission Fee Contractor will pay a commission fee of 3% of the total final invoice for each job assigned to you by Contractor Overlook.

Additional Insurance Requirements

Please note that at the time of application you are note required to have all the necessary insurance coverage. However, once you have been accepted into the Contractor Overlook Network, you will be required to submit proof of all required insurance prior to any jobs being assigned to you.

All insurance policies are to be issued by insurance companies with a current A.M. Best rating of “A” or better.

General Liability coverage is required to include the following:

  1. Broad Form Property Damage Liability
  2. Premises and Operations Liability
  3. Products and Completed Operation Liability
  4. Independent Contractors Liability and Personal Injury Liability

The following information must be included on your insurance certificate.

  1. “Eagle Adjusting Services and Contractor Overlook, a division of Eagle Adjusting Services, are named as additional insured for the above listed coverage’s and policies, as it applies to work performed for Contractor Overlook (excluding Workers’ Compensation).”
    • Please note that some insurer clients require that they be specifically named as additional insured.

If your company does water mitigation, the following statement must be added to Additional Insured wording. “Contractors Pollution Liability includes coverage for Causation for mold. Mold and fungus are included in definition of pollutant under the policy terms. Subcontracted work is not excluded. Asbestos exposure is not excluded.
